Employees of game publisher Humble Games have been fired: several former employees of the US development studio report on social media that they and their colleagues have lost their jobs. The publisher, which, like half of the US gaming press, belongs to the Ziff Davis company, writes in a statement about “restructuring.”

“In these difficult economic times for indie game publishing, Humble Games has made the difficult but necessary decision to restructure its operations,” the statement on X said. Radley writes in a LinkedIn post. All operational activities have been transferred to an independent consulting firm. As per Polygon reporter Nicole Carpenter 36 employees lost their jobs.
Humble Games sees itself as an “indie publisher” – a game company that supports small development studios in the development and marketing of their games. Several successful indie games have appeared under the Humble banner, including “Slay the Spire”, “Void Bastards” and “Unpacking”.
Humble Bundle not affected
Humble Bundle will not be affected by job cuts at Humble Games, according to a post on the publisher’s X account. With Humble Bundle, buyers get a revolving package of games, but other software and books are also sold there. You can decide for yourself how much you want to pay for it – a portion of the proceeds will go to charity.
The Humble portfolio was acquired in 2017 by media company Ziff Davis, which also owns the well-known American gaming site IGN.
