As usual, September was Apple’s iPhone month: the 16 series models are now finally available, and Apple also introduced the new AirPods 4 and AirPods Max with USB-C. But what’s next in Apple’s pipeline in 2024? A whole range of new products is now planned for October. This includes Macs as well as iPads.

Several new Macs – finally with the M4
This year, Apple was unusually the first to give the iPad Pro a brand new M4 SoC. However, all current Macs still use the Apple Silicon generation M3. The rumor mill currently believes in at least three new Mac series with the updated SoC.
These include the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, which will be presented in the autumn anyway, the Mac mini in a new, smaller look with five USB-C ports and the 24-inch iMac M4. A new MacBook Air series with the M4 SoC would be less likely – but perhaps conceivable. Well-known display analyst Ross Young reports that suitable screens will be delivered for this Starts in October. However, Apple only introduced the 13 and 15-inch M3 models of the MacBook Air in the spring. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman therefore believes in the extradition date in the first quarter of 2025,
iPad and possible availability dates
The iPad, which Apple is also happy to update in October, has new mini and standard models pending. The manufacturer last updated the iPad mini in 2021 and the standard iPad in 2022. Both models could use a new interior with faster SoCs and possibly better cameras, and the form factor will probably not change.
Regarding the schedule: Apple will probably deliver its keynote in mid-to-late October. The new devices can be expected to go on sale in early November, just in time for the Christmas business. The company could also present Apple Intelligence in detail again at an event; after all, macOS 15.1, iPadOS 18.1 and, above all, iOS 18.1, which will only officially release the AI system, are scheduled to appear in October. However, the rollout will be gradual, as with all the announced functions.
