New WiFi, Old SIM

5G fast, but no mmWave
It is said that there has been progress in 5G support thanks to the Snapdragon X75 modem installed in the Pro models. According to early reports, the maximum throughput in US radio networks has increased by 25 percent. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus apparently continue to use the Snapdragon X70. However, Apple does not comment on which Qualcomm series the company uses. The group has been working on its own 5G chips for years. However, they should not be available before 2025 and will likely appear for the first time as part of the fourth-generation iPhone SE.
5G mmWave technology, which promises significantly higher download rates, is still not available outside the United States, but is still not supported by many mobile phone providers or is only supported to a limited extent. Apple also reserves the technology of the iPhone 16 for its US models, where it has already been available since the iPhone 12.
