Apple may be planning to redesign its popular camera app on the iPhone. The redesign could come with iOS 19, which will likely be presented at the WWDC 2025 developer conference in June. This is what YouTuber claims John ProsserAccording to their information, which comes from informed circles, the entire menu navigation will change. Interestingly, the look is based on the VisionOS version of the application, which features partially transparent menus with rounded corners.

Apple sets the style
In theory, Apple already introduced the current form of the Camera app with iOS 7. The minimalist design with yellow and white controls on a black background quickly spread among the competition, so the official camera apps from Samsung and Google (stock Android) look very similar to Apple’s version. Accordingly, a refresh would be appropriate.
In addition to the changed design, which includes a bordered menu area as well as a smaller image preview, a shutter button, and switches for the selfie and rear cameras, I should also change the operation. There are two central buttons supposedly for photo and video and more twist and turn operations. Additional modes can be accessed via drop-down menus. If there are more settings, they should automatically appear in the upper area. How realistic the Prosser leak is remains to be seen. Apple has likely set the direction for iOS 19 internally for a long time. Work on iOS 18 began shortly after its introduction, although much more work can and will be done on the existing iPhone operating system this year due to Apple Intelligence. If Apple sticks to its usual schedule, iOS 19 will become available at last in autumn 2025.
