Temporary unlimited flat rate for Magnomobil tariff
Telekom already announced the campaign at the end of 2023. Now the “data gift” has been made more concrete: It can be booked in the MeinMagenta app and includes unlimited data volume for surfing within Germany. Other EU countries and Great Britain have at least 66 GB of high-speed volume.
Almost all existing mobile phone tariffs of telcos have benefited from the campaign. Customers of telecom discounters Congstar and Franke do not benefit from the EM campaign.
Permanent 5G upgrade
In addition to the temporarily unlimited data volume, the telco is also offering many old customers a permanent upgrade to the new 5G mobile communications standard just in time for the launch of EM on June 14, 2024.
Over 4 million existing customers with LTE-only contracts will be automatically upgraded to 5G. Anyone who previously did not have a 5G option in their tariff can now get it for free.
Telecom secures EM broadcast rights
The background to the generous data gifts: Telekom has secured the broadcast rights for all 51 games of the 2024 European Championship. These will be shown live and in UHD quality on Magenta TV, even five games in particular.
