Fact: The new Pro-Ultra model is likely to be the last model of the series and thus the crowning achievement of the H12 model. The reason for this is probably the pricing policy: the H12 series is already old, so as a manufacturer you can also offer new models like the H12 Pro Ultra much cheaper in comparison and thus attract customers who Don’t want to spend 800 euros. equipment. The DreamE H12 Pro Ultra offers the typical well-thought-out design of DreamE vacuum cleaners, which is both functional and aesthetically pleasing due to its monolithic appearance. The construction of the device is simple: the guide rod is simply inserted into the body using the handle, the base station is installed and connected to the power supply. The roller brush and filter are already installed, making it easy to get started. Includes replacement roller, replacement filter, cleaning brush and a bottle of cleaning agent.

Like almost all of its competitors, this device is made of plastic, but it feels high quality enough and is impeccably built too. You don’t have to worry about premature failure of the H14 Pro Ultra. The handle with control buttons fits comfortably in the hand and enables intuitive operation.

One of the highlights of the Dreame H12 Pro Ultra is the large water tank, which holds 900ml capacity. It is filled with 10ml of cleaning fluid to optimize cleaning performance. The tank sits slim on the device and can be easily removed and reinserted. It is advised not to use commercial floor cleaners as they are said to damage the engine.

All the controls of the Dreame H12 Pro Ultra are located on the handle, making it easy to operate. The On/Off switch activates the automatic mode, suitable for most cleaning tasks. For particularly stubborn dirt, you can switch to Ultra mode, which offers a maximum suction power of 16,000 Pa. A pure suction mode is also available to absorb larger amounts of liquid. It can be used for drying a shower, but it’s not really meant for pure vacuuming.

The forward rotating roller automatically pulls the 4.9 kg vacuum cleaner forward, making it easy to handle. The Dreame H12 Pro Ultra moves smoothly around edges and requires minimal effort. However, unlike more expensive models like the Dreame H14 Pro (Review), it doesn’t have motorized wheels for retracting and can’t be placed flat on the floor to keep it under furniture. We also missed the LED light, which would have made it easier to see dirt in front of the mop head.

The Dreame H12 Pro Ultra’s large, easy-to-read display provides information about remaining battery life, modes set, and the level of dirt on the floor. It also has voice announcements that inform the user about the status of the device. The language is set to English at the factory, but can be changed to German using a button on the back of the housing.

The Dreame H12 Pro Ultra offers good cleaning performance that effectively removes both wet and dry dirt. In automatic mode, a sensor detects the level of dirt on the floor and adjusts the power accordingly. It worked reliably in testing. The edge cleaning is not completely edge-free, there are still a few millimeters left unwiped. However, this should not be a problem for most users. Hydration is consistent and strong. Since the water is re-absorbed in one step immediately after application, there is no risk of damage to sensitive floors. We have been using vacuum cleaners that work similarly for laminate floors for years and have had no problems with them so far.

As always with a good vacuum mop: self-cleaning function. After cleaning, the roller brush is rinsed with water heated to 60 degrees, with the direction of rotation occasionally changing and finally the brush is spun at high speed to expel as much water as possible. The brush is then dried with hot air, this process is successfully completed after about 30 minutes. This function ensures that the brush always remains clean and does not generate any bacteria and unpleasant odors.

The H12 Pro Ultra’s battery takes about four hours to fully charge and offers up to 30 minutes of runtime in automatic mode. This stamina is enough to clean a large area at once – around 140 square meters (gross) in our case. Time-consuming and energy-consuming intermediate steps such as water changing, scrubbing and squeezing are no longer necessary. If necessary, the device can be placed in standby mode by keeping the guide rod straight. Simply tilting the handle reactivates the vacuum cleaner.

However, the inability to place the device flat on the ground and the lack of LED light are points that should be taken into account when making a purchasing decision.
