Bora Bora for beta testers only
A second, Vanishing Environment was released earlier – The Beach Bora Bora In the South Pacific. However, this virtual environment is only available in VisionOS 2 beta and has only been announced for VisionOS 2. However, in the preview version of the update, it works as intended and creates a holiday atmosphere at work.
Vision Pro users can display environments at any time using the Digital Crown. They then replace the passthrough environments with completely virtual worlds in high resolution. Apple seems to be taking a long time to create these. They are photorealistic graphics that move animatedly. They were recorded with special cameras and they provide almost complete immersion. With the Digital Crown, it is also possible to display parts of the real world at the same time if you don’t want to completely “disappear” into your surroundings.
13 environments are complete
In addition to Lake Wrangla and Bora Bora (beta, see above), existing environments White Sands, Mount Hood, Joshua Tree, Yosemite and Haleakala (volcano on Maui) can now be used. There are also color filters that can be placed over the real environments: “Morning Light”, “Spring Light”, “Summer Light”, “Autumn Light” and “Winter Light”. There’s even an environment from the moon – if you really want peace and quiet (including a view of Earth, of course).
“Environments allow you to transform your physical environment and digitally transport yourself to another location, such as Yosemite National Park, Mount Hood, or the Moon,” explains Apple. Within environments, all apps can continue to be used as normal and will remain located in their respective locations. In addition, individual apps also offer their own environments, including Disney+ or the Keynote app with TV apps and Cinema Steve Jobs Theater,
