Disney+ is getting expensive again in the United States

Disney+ subscriptions in the US will be $2 more expensive per month. Several US media outlets reported this, citing a statement from the company. The new prices will come into effect from October. It is unclear whether Disney will raise prices again in Germany.

In the future, the subscription with ads will cost $10 in the United States instead of $8 previously. The price of the ad-free subscription version will increase from $14 to $16 per month.

In Germany, Disney last changed its prices. The company has also introduced a new subscription structure that differs from the United States, where Disney is offered in combination with offers such as Hulu and ESPN that are not available in this country – so it is difficult to make a direct comparison.

There are three different subscription options for Disney+ in Germany. The cheapest version costs just 6 euros per month, but it limits the streaming quality to a maximum of 1080p and shows ad breaks. The standard version has ads, but it can only be streamed in FullHD resolution. It costs 9 euros per month.

Finally, there is also the Premium version in Germany – the only tier in which you can watch 4K streams in HDR. This will currently cost you 12 euros per month. Until recently, existing Disney+ subscribers paid the old cheaper prices. This is over from the end of July as existing customers have also been switched to the new subscription prices.

Although Disney recently raised its prices in Germany, further price hikes cannot be ruled out. Other streaming services, including Netflix and Prime Video, have also increased their costs in recent years, either directly or through subscription changes.
