This has worked problem-free for many users for months. Now Google has apparently identified users who used this trick to view from their actual residence. The email said, “We believe you did not indicate your actual country of residence when registering,” which among other things includes Blog GoogleWatchBlog has been published.. If you want to remain a subscriber, you will need to register again – but this time at the full price.

By default, Youtube Premium costs 13 euros per month. You can watch YouTube without ads, save content offline and access YouTube Music ad-free. However, a Lite version is currently offered in Germany at 6 euros per month, which only removes ads from videos and is therefore likely to represent better value for money for many users. According to Google, ads can only be displayed with Premium Lite for music videos.

YouTube has been taking drastic action against other methods of blocking advertising for several months: the Google subsidiary is in the race against ad blockers. Recently, according to a report by SponsorBlock, Google has started importing ads on the server side, making it untouchable for ad blockers. When asked by Heise Online, Google did not want to comment on this report.
