Cheap Redmi Note 14 provides a solid camera, a sharp performance and a long battery life. This test report shows where the weaknesses are.

Over the years, Xiaomi is serving price-conscious buyers with comparatively strong hardware with its lower brand Redmi and Note series-especially a camera, which is well equipped for the price. It also applies to Redmi Note 14 with 108 megapixel lenses. As usual, the variety of models of the series is somewhat misleading. We tested the cheap 4G version. This test shows if he is a deal.

Redmi Note 14 depends on a simple, functional design with an angular plastic habitat, which is back towards the sides. Our test device in Poison Green variant “Lime” immediately holds the eye and is likely to be an eye -chaiper in everyday life. Alternatively, the smartphone is available in Black (“Midnight Black”), Light Blue (“Ocean Blue”) and Purple (“Mist Purple”). The back camera reminds of a stunned emoji with two large lenses and a small lens.

Plastic housing processing is of high quality and is insensitive to fingers. With dimensions of weighing 163.3 × 76.6 × 8.2 mm and 197 grams, the device looks heavy and can hardly be operated. Thanks to the IP54 certification, it is preserved against the splash water. The top has a 3.5 mm jack connection for headphones, a rare feature in the smartphone.

With 2400 × 1080 pixels, the 6.67-inch OLED display provides a high image sharp (395 PPI). Thanks to a variable fresh rate of 60 to 120 Hz, the animation looks very liquid. The display with only video can sometimes appear slightly opposite and can present more glow. According to Xiaomi, the maximum brightness is at 1800 nits, so that the screen can be read easily even in the sunlight.

The main attraction of Redmi Note 14 is 108-megapixel main camera-but also the only serious lens next to the 20-megapixel selfie camera. In addition, a less useful 2 megapixel is the depth of macroline and light lens. There is no optical image stabilization with all lenses.

In the delite, the main camera provides detailed recording with natural colors and good dynamic range. Thanks to high resolution, double zoom photos also look good. Portrait mode creates a solid depth effect. A triple zoom camera app also has a preset, but leads to thicker photos. It is possible to increase up to ten times. At night, the camera quickly reaches its borders: despite the night mode, the photos remain dark and noise.

Macrolins do not believe – low resolution leads to wide, pixelted close -ups. On the other hand, the selfie camera gives decent results. Videos with the main camera are possible in full HD up to 60 FPS, but there are unstable, blurred and farm due to lack of stabilization. The front camera offers full HD recording with a maximum of 30 FPS that looks a bit better.

MediaTek Helio G99 acts as a proven mid-range processor, a drive that can be found in many cheap smartphones and tablets. Performance for everyday life is completely enough – there are no disturbing stalks. It is also confirmed by benchmark PCmark with 11,000 points. On the other hand, the graphic performance is rather weak: the 3DMark test “wildlife” comes only at 1,200 points. This is common in this price range. Like for a casual games Angry Birds Nevertheless, the performance is sufficient.

Redmi Note 14 or 8 GB RAM and 128 or 256 GB is available with internal memory. However, it now depends on the UFS 2.2 standard very fast. There is a microSD slot for memory expansion. The device price range is specific: Wi-Fi 5, GPS, GPS, Byidau and Galileo as well as GPS location via USB-C-2.0 connection. Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC are also on the board.

The biggest weakness: Redmi Note 14 supports maximum LTE (4G). The 5G network coverage has not yet been nationwide, and many cheap tariffs (guides) are throtting at 50 MBT/s anyway. Nevertheless, many smartphones already offer 5G in this price range, so that this impression arises here that the latest technology is not obtained. However, there is a version with 5G modem and other processors that we will test later.

The sound quality is positive when calling: negotiaters can be heard clearly and clearly, your own voice is also transferred well. The fingerprint sensor on the display works firmly. Stereo speakers make surprisingly voluntary sounds for this price range.

Redmi Note 14 moves with Android 14 and Hyper OS 1. The user interface app offers a version with and without a drawer. However, Xiaomi establishes quite bloatware. Security patch is no longer updated from November 2024 and has dates, but an update should be followed soon. Xiaomi is surprisingly generous for software updates: four Android upgrade is planned, ie unless Android 18. Security patch should be provided up to six years.

You do not see it in all slim housing, but the Redmi Note 14 has a fairly strong battery with 5500 mAh. Does it have a long battery life? The answer is how PCMark battery test proves 12.5 hours. This means that the smartphone easily lasts for a day, when used with vibrant use, and with affordable use at a time -time.

An power supply is not included. Load is possible with a maximum of 33 watts. 20 to 100 percent passes around an hour. To fully charge an empty cell phone, you should expect about 90 minutes. There is no wireless charging – which will be surprised even at a low price.

With manageable budget, Redmi Note 14 provides a decent 108 megapixel camera and good battery life with a sharp OLED display. MediaTek Helio G99 ensures adequate performance in everyday life. Processing is innocent. With NFC, stereo speaker and a long update supply, the equipment is properly.

The camera has weaknesses that are disappointed with night shots and macroline. Lack of 5G support is no longer up to date in this price range. With the price of road from 170 euros, Redmi Note 14 still provides a good price-demonstration ratio for all that is looking for a good main camera and a cheap cell phone with great performance.
