Rhinland-Paletten: Set up cell phones in schools

0

There are different opinions on mobile phone restrictions in schools in teacher unions in Rhinland-Paletten. While the State President of the Association of Education and Education (VBE), Lars Larsi, is for a nationwide regulation based on a comprehensive restriction model in Hesssey, there is a lot of doubt in the Education and Science Association (GEW).

GEW State President Christian Herz said that a blanket mobile phone restriction in all schools does not solve the problem of scientifically proven damage to the use of intensive cell phones in childhood and adolescence. It makes sense to find rules and solutions at the school level. These should be developed in interaction with students. In Rhinland-polyninet, the use of private smartphones is currently not fundamentally prohibited. However, school can restrict or restrict the use of cell phones through school rules.

On 3 April, the State Parliament in Mej will discuss the subject. The occasion is an application by the parliamentary group of independent voters, in which they demand a nationwide uniform regulation. The CDU Parliamentary Group recently spoke to a comprehensive ban and the same change in the Rhinland-Palletton School Act and wanted to contribute to the state Parliament in May.

Rhinland-Paletten: Set up cell phones in schools

Education Minister Stephanie Hubig (SPD) warned of quick shots in the run -up for the state Parliament debate. The subject belongs to teachers, school management, parents, but especially students. Smartphone responsible handling, media literacy, screen time, use of social media and many questions should be discussed. “This is why you have to illuminate the subject from many aspects,” emphasized Hubig. “We first discuss with people affected by possible new rules.” These are teachers, students and parents. Experts also spoke to all the questions on the use of mobile phones. It is checked whether schools with equal recommendations can be further supported, keeping in mind different ages and to what extent guidelines can give orientation.

Lemovski from VBE praised the planned comprehensive ban at the neighboring country Hessse from the school year 2025/26. He must have preferred such a step at the level of the Ministry of Education. In Rhinland-polyninet, many schools will have to find their own solutions in recent years, and will be passed responsibility on them. This looks slightly different with the GEW state head Herz. Leaded alone, teachers felt in the implementation of a blanket mobile phone ban, without developing a concept for implementation in school. Then the struggles are unavoidable.

For Lemovsky, cell phones and smartphones have no place in primary schools, in grade five to ten, secondary level 1, it also speaks for a ban on personal use of such devices. In secondary levels, it is also comprehensible to deny a proper handling of students, here it is suspected whether the ban is needed. Originally, a nationwide ban does not mean that there is no media education, Lemovsky said. For them he will like school equipment for all students. This will also eliminate inequalities.

If a nationwide comprehensive restriction on the use of private cell phones also falls in the Rhineland-Paleletten, the VBE state head requires a clear regulation in the incident that a cell phone has been collected due to the violation. It should be clearly regulated that such equipment will be collected in the country’s position, not that teachers will face claims of loss otherwise.
