That’s not a given, especially since a successor, “Flight Simulator 2024”, is already on the runway. The developers at Asobo Studios promise that updates for Flight Simulator, which was released in 2020, will still appear almost monthly.
Microsoft also provided some success statistics for Flight Simulator: According to it, 15 million people have played “Microsoft Flight Simulator”. The title, released in 2020, is the most successful branch of Microsoft’s flight simulator series. In total, 15 million players flew the digital plane more than a billion times.
“Flight Simulator 2024” in progress
The sequel will be released on November 19. With “Flight Simulator 2024,” Microsoft is attempting to incorporate more typical video game elements. There should be missions and tasks with which players can recreate different aviation career paths. While in the current “Flight Simulator” you travel in the air mainly for the joy of flying, in “Flight Simulator 2024” you can fly an air rescue helicopter or transport goods.

In a trailer, Microsoft also shows the use of planes in irrigating fields, flying around advertising banners and rescue operations in the open sea. You can also recommend yourself as a charter service as a private pilot for VIPs with a pink suit and sunglasses. Civil aviation is also prominently featured in the Airbus A330.
In addition, the new version of Flight Simulator appears to represent different climates. According to Microsoft, “Flight Simulator 2024” will offer the largest selection of aircraft and the most comprehensive depiction of airports ever.
