Judge Ana Margarita Ríos Farjat is the first in Mexico’s Supreme Court to use artificial intelligence (AI) to disseminate drafts of the decisions she presents and to facilitate understanding the content and scope of her judicial decisions. However, only the content of the public versions of the draft decisions can be viewed.

AI is a tool Platform Sor Juanadeveloped by Ríos Farjat’s team in collaboration with other online resources such as Streamlit, Google and Pinecone. Sor Juana complements technological innovations already introduced by the Court, such as: B. links to documents and QR codes for viewing from any smart device.
Interaction of AI with court decisions
The AI platform allows users to literally chat with the verdict. You can use the menu to select a case according to the file number. A chat will then be activated where users can ask questions about the case, its outcome and the date on which the draft verdict will be examined by the First Chamber of the Court. The Mexican daily El Universal writes that the model is experimental and has access to only one sentence at a time to explain the situation. The platform does not collect or process personal data that could identify users or information for digital analysis.
