While Independence Day was celebrated yesterday in the United States with festivities and fireworks, there were numerous leaks on X and elsewhere about previously unknown Apple products. On the one hand, these should be new iPads and on the other, a whole new product category, which could be a new home device that combines the HomePod speaker with other hardware.

14 iPad identifiers discovered – but not all models covered
The iPad details come from code analyst @nicolas09F9, who reported them via Leak expert Aaron Paris Let’s spread it out. There are a total of 14 device identifiers, six of which apparently represent models that Apple did not bring to market. There is an “iPad13.20” and an “iPad13.21”, which would probably have been the standard iPad with A14 (WLAN and mobile communications). The “iPad15.3”, “iPad15.4”, “iPad15.5” and “iPad15.6” would be the 11 and 13-inch Pro models with the M3 SoC, each with Wi-Fi and cellular.
A total of eight iPad identifiers represent devices that are not yet available. “iPad15.7” and “iPad15.8” could be the 11th generation of the standard iPad with Wi-Fi and Cellular with the A16 SoC (from the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max as well as the 15 and 15 Plus). “iPad16.1” and “iPad16.2” are said to be the 7th generation of the iPad mini, believed to get the A17 from the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max (WLAN and Cellular, respectively). “iPad17.1”, “iPad17.2”, “iPad17.3” and “iPad17.4” are allegedly 11 and 13-inch Pro models with the still unknown M5 SoC (WLAN and Cellular). It’s unclear if Apple will actually release these as quickly as the current M4 models — for example, next spring or summer.
New home device category with Apple intelligence
An even more interesting leak comes directly from Aaron Paris. He wrote in MacRumors on July 4, he discovered a completely new identifier name in the Apple code. The device is called “HomeAccessories17.1”. So far Apple only has “Audio Accessory” as an identifier, this is for the smart speaker HomePod. “17.1” in turn indicates Apple’s upcoming A18 chip, which is for the iPhone 16 (all models).
The “HomeAccessory”, whose actual name is still unknown, should, unlike the HomePod, be equipped with Apple intelligence thanks to the SoC. The operating system for the new device category will be “a form of tvOS”, as is known from the HomePods. Previously it was leaked that Apple is working on an unknown operating system called HomeOS. The leak was in tvOS. Two identifiers called “AppleTV14.4” and “AppleTV14.5” were also discovered for the as yet unknown Apple TV model. These improved multimedia boxes could be announced next year. What exactly the “HomeAccessory” will look like is unclear. It could be a combination of Apple TV and HomePod, with a screen. In between it was also said that Apple could merge the iPad with the HomePod.
