Instagram is introducing a new feature that allows you to leave public comments on Stories. Previously, users could only react to stories using the private messaging function, without the conversation being visible to others. Only people who follow the creator of the story can comment and vice versa.

Comments on stories are just as ephemeral as the stories themselves, disappearing automatically after 24 hours. However, users have the option to activate or deactivate comments for each of their stories. It is still unclear whether comments will be archived once the story expires Technology portal The Verge reports,
