The US company Framework, which is considering stability, not only revealed its first desktop PC, but also announced a new notebook series: Laptop 13 and laptops joined the laptop 12 during 16 years. A separate mainboard format for entry-level models may look strange, but the limited space requires clearly adjustment. So there is only a RAM slot, which affects the usable memory bandwidth. Wlan modules and SSDs remain intercourse, but the latter compacts are limited to M.2-2230 format. The notebook designed for the educational market usually contains weak or old CPUs to keep the price of the device low. Instead of using the current low-end model, for example from the Celeron series, the framework uses faster than the 13th generation but the old core i3 and core i5. Interested parties get good performance, but have to do without AI Accelerator. It is not clear which models are used with too much waste heat and also whether all four USB-C sockets speak USB4/Thunderbolt 4. Technically, the CPU generation can do this, but there will be high requirements cost driver to ensure signal integrity on the mainboard.
AI update for laptop 13
If you want to cut -TO -Date Performance, you have to use laptop 13. This series gets a new mainboard with Ryzen AI 300 (Strix Point), which as usual provides two DDR5 slots and location for M.2-2280 SSD. In the framework web shop, three given equipment variants can be selected. Alternatively, a laptop 13 can be fully placed together according to its requirements or purchasing the mainboard individually to upgrade an existing device. The latter works for all the laptops already sold, that is, for back debut, which came to the market with the 11th Core-I Generation.

Since the AI unit contained in the ryzen processor is strong enough for Copilot+ and writes a copilot button for the entire system of Microsoft’s hardware specifications, now one on the keyboard. Framework officially supports the use of Linux and you can also buy keyboard without Microsoft logo.
It is not clear whether the laptop will be the mainboard with the fresh Intel CPU for 13 or not. The core Ultra 200V (Lunar Lake) runs with a structure of integrated upgradable in the CPU package and thus it is not possible, especially since it will require a specially developed mainboard. The core Ultra 200H (Arrow Lake) fits on the mainboard that is already available with the core Ultra 100h (meteorite lake). However, the latter has been on the market for only six months and there is hardly any innovation in the 200H upgrade. With AMD Mainboard, Framework has proved that when you have very few new things you also stop: Riseen was never the mainboard with 8040U. Instead, the AMD version was still sold with Ryzen 7040U until the Ryzen AI 300 was not switched.
(So far) no update for laptop 16
For Big Brother Laptop 16, Framework showed a prototype of a new keyboard with only a new button. However, a one-key prototype does not have a normal layout, but a similar key grid contains 19 millimeters of normal size-a so-called orthylinier layout that has been slightly widespread so far.
Framework insisted that the laptop would also experience 16 updates in the future, but until further notice, the interior of 2023 (Ryzen 7040HS, optional Radeon 7700s). In addition, AMD’s roadmap makes the project more complicated than the framework: AMD has a new CPU on the offer, but now the mobile does not bring the GPU that will fit in the GPU module.
In turn, users want an alternative to Nvidia, but team Grune always wants to say a close to the integration of Geforce GPU in the concrete system.
