Classic school look
The stylus is intended to work directly with pen-compatible iPads without pairing. These include the 3rd generation Air, 5th generation mini, 7th generation standard iPad, as well as the iPad Pro 11 in all variants and the 3rd generation iPad Pro 12.9. The look of the pen is reminiscent of LAMY’s classic fountain pen. There is a cap that can be removed and attached on the opposite side, a way to attach the pen to a shirt, jacket or trousers, and several famous LAMY colors, including bright red.
Apple’s palm rejection is supported. Battery life is ten hours at a time, charging via the integrated USB-C socket should take place in an hour. An LED shows the battery status. The tip can be replaced, two replacement tips are included in the packaging. Two shortcut keys are integrated, each of which can be assigned independently to appropriate apps (see below).
A LAMY SDK is required for print recognition
What is missing is wireless charging, but that only works with certain versions of the Apple Pencil anyway. Pressure and tilt sensitivity are built in. However, the first only works in apps that have the necessary LAMY iPadOS SDK integrated. The manufacturer is trying to find suitable developers.
The Safari Note+’s stylus technology comes from a well-known provider AdoniteHow iFun.de reported. The price is 89 euros. LAMY advertises the pen with the slogan that it creates a “writing experience that has been tried and tested millions of times” with an ergonomic grip zone for “optimal hand position”. You can also have the pen personally engraved if you wish.
