The days of Apple closing supplier entrances to its App Store during the holidays are over. Still, to be safe, the iPhone maker is making app developers wait longer for app reviews. New apps and updates could potentially be released with a delay.

Its effect falls on the period from 20th December to 26th December. Apple writes in its developer portalThe reason given is that a large number of applications are expected. At least according to Apple, staff shortages or vacation time do not play a role in app reviews. However, it can be assumed that Apple’s entire team is not involved in app reviews to begin with.
It’s best to submit it now
Apple recommends that developers ideally update their apps and games as soon as possible and submit them for review so that the new versions can be available in the App Store in time for the festival. Christmas is traditionally a high season for downloads, as there will surely be some Apple devices under the Christmas tree that will be filled with apps and games as soon as they are unpacked. The holidays also give many people the time and freedom to try new apps and games. As a result, developers are also certainly interested in taking advantage of these potential sales.
Apparently many developers submit updates even at Christmas – either because they want to fix errors or because, for example, it’s a holiday project and it’s finally time to code.
closing time is history
From a developer standpoint, it’s certainly pleasing that Apple is no longer closing its doors completely. For years, developers had to take precautions and were unable to submit anything or make changes for several days around Christmas. Christmas holiday has been suspended from 2021. Apparently Apple has finally abandoned this practice.
