In honor of Black History Month, Apple has released a new special bracelet for the Apple Watch. A new dial for the Apple Watch should follow shortly, as well as background images for the iPhone and iPad. The black Unity Sport Loop will be available in stores from this week for 49 euros.

Black History Month is celebrated each year in February, which aims to honor the history, culture and achievements of the African diaspora. He was first described in 1926 by the American historian Carter G. It was launched by Woodson as a memorial week and later as a month. The month should also inspire against slavery, the civil rights movement and the continued struggle for equality and racism.
Loop with a lens effect
This year’s black Unity Sport Loop is available in 42mm and 46mm sizes and is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 4 or newer, the Apple Watch SE and the Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Ultra 2 (46mm bracelet). Apple supports a number of global organizations that are committed to the memorial month, according to its own statements, but without providing details about the scope of support.
The new bracelet is woven in a pattern of enlarged and darker loops, the purpose of which is to create a lentil effect that shows every loop in green on one side and green on the other. The color transition should be observed when moving the hand. The new dials and background images build on this design. They should be available with watchOS or an upcoming version of iOS and iPadOS, about which Apple does not provide any information at that time.
Two special editions with tradition
Apple traditionally releases special editions of its bracelets and dials twice a year. Apart from Black History Month in February, the iPhone maker has always released a Pride edition in favor of the LGBTQ+ community in May in recent years. This year it is eagerly awaited whether Apple is holding this tradition despite the changing political climate in the United States. The government led by US President Donald Trump has set itself the goal of not allowing any other gender identity than being male or female.
