Oracle’s new offerings include GenAI agents with retrieval-enhanced generation (RAG) capabilities from the cloud. Former Oracle Database 23ai allows access to AI vector search and the execution of fast similarity queries based on data stored in the database. According to Oracle, the main use cases for this are call center optimization, legal research, and financial analysis.

There are also several new AI modules for different work areas: The GenAI module allows versatile language models to be seamlessly integrated into a wide range of use cases, including writing assistance, summarization, analysis, and chat. It provides access to Llama 3.1 models in a size of up to 405 billion parameters and supports Cohere Command R, Command R+, and Embed Model. The Data Science module is designed for data scientists and helps access open source tools for building, training, deploying, and managing AI models. It includes updates to the No-Code AI Quick Actions feature. The Language module allows sophisticated text analysis and machine translation at scale. The new multilingual models are designed to seamlessly support more than 100 languages. Code Assist is also particularly interesting: the module makes suggestions for various programming languages, including Java, Python, JavaScript, SuiteScript, Rust, Ruby, Go, PL/SQL, C#, and C++. Combined with previous AI tasks, there are now over 50 AI agents and over 100 GenAI features will be available.
Oracle Intelligent Data Lake
There are also innovations in data management. The new Oracle Intelligent Data Lake has become a fundamental component of the Oracle Data Intelligence Platform. This makes it easier to use data from different sources in a uniform structure. The data lake will have an integrated developer environment with data catalog functions, Apache Spark and Apache Flink for data processing, and Jupyter Notebooks for data analysis and visualization. According to Oracle, it can be used to connect analytical applications to real-time data from any source, inventory assets, transform data, and create end-to-end data orchestration.
And finally, Oracle also updates its database. On 23ai, data queries are now possible in natural language, but initially only in English; the Autonomous Database has some new AI features such as Select AI with RAG support, GPU support for OML notebook offload, and new no-code drag-and-drop tools as part of Data Studio.
Oracle showed all these innovations at Cloudworld. Details about the announcements can be found In Oracle’s related announcements. As part of the in-house exhibition, extensions to Oracle Fusion and cloud collaboration with AWS and GCP were also showcased.
