Xbox Cloud Gaming can now stream games from your library too

Microsoft is expanding the streaming function of its Game Pass Ultimate game subscription: in the future, you will also be able to play some selected titles outside of the subscription on the Xbox platform. Previously it was only possible to stream games that were part of a subscription.

Innovation is an important benefit for Game Pass Ultimate users, especially because there are 50 games in the list of streamable titles right from the start: these include blockbuster productions such as “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora,” “Baldur’s Gate 3” and “Baldur’s Gate 3.” Cyberpunk 2077”, but also indie games like “Balatro” and “Dredge”. Microsoft has published the full list on its website,

To stream the listed games, you must have an active subscription to Game Pass Ultimate for 18 euros per month. Additionally, streaming titles from your own collection only works with digital versions – that is, not with disc versions of games.

If you get past these hurdles, you have quite a bit of free choice, at least when it comes to end devices. Xbox Cloud Gaming works directly on Samsung TVs, but also works on Fire TV, smartphones, tablets, and browsers. You can also stream the titles to Meta Quest VR glasses. Microsoft’s cloud gaming works not only with Xbox controllers, but also with PlayStation’s DualSense and DualShock gamepads. On PC you can play with mouse and keyboard.

In addition to Microsoft, competitor Sony has also announced streaming news: handheld console PlayStation Portal can now stream titles from Sony Cloud as well. Until now, the gadget only worked in conjunction with your own Playstation, which had to be turned on as a streaming server. PlayStation Portal cannot play local games.
