Christian Pothman has been teaching computer science and mathematics at a high school in Cologne since 2009. He has been developing materials for computer science lessons for quite some time. They posted this on their website in April 2021 cpothman.de Licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. The collection now consists of twelve lesson series with a total of 126 lesson sections, including 430 pages of worksheets and 650 PDFs for presentation in the classroom. The content for grades 5 and 6 is sorted by topics such as coding and Scratch as a programming language, for example, there are categories, “Linear Data Structures” and inheritance. Teachers who contact Pothman by email will receive solutions to assignments.
The content is based on the curriculum of North Rhine-Westphalia. When we asked, Pothman says that about half of the colleagues who contact him work in North Rhine-Westphalia, like him, but he also receives inquiries from Austria and Switzerland. If requested, he will send the original files in LibreOffice format so that recipients can make changes and add to the content. This website is a treasure trove for anyone teaching computer science. The comprehensive offering is complemented by links to pages with additional content.
