Facebook is adopting a new strategy when creators violate community guidelines for the first time. Instead of bans, the social media platform is now relying on new training that participants must learn from — while maintaining their reach.

On track: “GTA 6” is still scheduled to appear in autumn 2025Meta, the company behind Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, sees this approach as an alternative to previous warnings. “We know everyone makes mistakes,” The company writes in a blog postwhich is primarily aimed at professional users. So, for first-time violators, Facebook would like to set up in-app training — starting with Pro mode users — on the policy the person violated. If someone completes the training, Meta removes the warning. Related postings will remain blocked.
After a year everything is forgotten
If the person remains compliant for a year, he or she can re-participate in this opportunity to compensate for the warning with training. However, if the person violates Facebook’s rules again within a year, the amnesty does not apply: the new warning will then remain in effect. If violations occur more frequently, access to the account will be reduced or opportunities to earn money will be limited.
This rehabilitation option should not apply to serious violations. Facebook is not changing any guidelines. The company does not believe that the new approach will have any impact on content distribution. In the future, the company also intends to provide follow-up training for private users.
