Tineco Pure One A50S in test

The Tineco Pure One A50S promises strong cleaning performance at an attractive price. We tested a cordless vacuum cleaner and showed its strengths and weaknesses.

The market for cordless vacuum cleaners is broad, ranging from affordable models ranging from around 100 euros to expensive models costing more than 1,000 euros. Tineco Pure One A50S is priced around Rs 500 250 euros In the lower price segment and still offers some interesting features. In this test report we will clarify whether it is reliable in practice.

Design and workmanship

The design of the Tineco Pure One A50S is modern, the color combination of white, black and silver fits in well. Despite the use of mainly plastic, the vacuum cleaner looks sufficiently sturdy and stable. What is most attractive is the top part, which sits firmly on the housing and is made of plastic. Like most models, the bottom of the suction pipe is made of aluminum, which further strengthens the static effect. There is an articulated joint in the middle that allows the user to easily vacuum under furniture with just one movement in everyday life.

The display, which is located above the pistol grip and faces the user, is slightly smaller. It mainly shows three different modes (Eco, Auto and Max) and error messages, but only has a limited actual battery display – more on this in the “Daily Life” section. The vacuum cleaner is basically lightweight and convenient, making it easy to use. Accessories can be separated from each other with little effort, improving handling.

The scope of delivery of the Pure One A50S is manageable and limited to the essentials. In addition to the 3DSense floor brush with a very bright green LED light and a proximity sensor on the side to increase suction power when you move it along furniture, it only has one crevice tool with a variable brush attachment and one for storage Has wall bracket. , Actually, there should also be a motorized upholstery brush in the delivery box, but our test device did not have it. Similar to the Dyson, you can insert the included power cable into the wall mount so the vacuum cleaner charges instantly when hung. This eliminates the need for fiddly plugging.

Operations and management in everyday life

It operates through a display that is very small and two buttons that are placed directly below and can be easily reached with the thumb. The suction power can be set in three modes: Eco, Auto and Max. Eco mode provides the lowest suction power and is particularly energy-saving. In Auto mode, the vacuum cleaner automatically adjusts the power, while Max mode is specifically for coarse dirt.

A bit odd: Although there is a dedicated Auto mode, the sensitive automatic system controls suction power independently in Eco mode. Using the manual mode, the user sets not only the higher suction power, but also the higher rotation speed of the motorized suction brush. However, this does not happen automatically. We missed a proper battery indicator – there is a display, after all. But it is apparently so small that there was clearly no room left for percentage or at least bar information. Instead, when the battery is low, only a small and easily overlooked power symbol appears and the LED on the removable battery flashes red. We could have wished better than this.

Demonstration of cleanliness in everyday life

The Tineco Pure One A50s shows its strength on hard floors. Even in Eco mode, almost all common dirt is removed with just one suction movement. The very bright green LED helps detect even the finest dust particles. As is almost always the case with cheap vacuum cleaners, good results apply mainly when moving forward, with small particles always left behind when pulling back;

However, it is difficult to operate a vacuum cleaner on carpets. Although it moves quite well on short pile carpets, it sometimes becomes difficult to move on high pile carpets. Sometimes it helps to raise the lip of the brush head using the small slider at the top. However, what is left is always something like breakaway torque – at first it is difficult to get it moving, then the large wheels on the brush head ensure smooth movement. This makes its use more limited than necessary, at least on high-pile carpet. Thanks to the strong suction power of (according to the manufacturer) 185 air watts, the actual cleaning performance on carpets is also good – at least better than we expected from a comparatively cheaper model.

EdgeSense technology detects edges on the side of the brush head and increases suction power accordingly. This is also indicated by an LED on the right and left side of the brush head, which illuminates when the sensor detects the approach of side obstacles such as furniture or skirting boards. In practice this works fine. We really liked the simple automatic system, which, as described above, only controls the suction power, not the power of the motorized brush. The program responds directly and sensitively and we rarely wanted our performance to be any better. It can also be accessed by pressing a button if necessary.

Our test device lacked suitable accessories for cleaning upholstery, making it difficult to even remove animal hair. In fact, it should include a motorized upholstery brush. The operating volume is relatively high at up to 75 dB in Max mode, but pleasantly low at around 60 dB in Eco mode. However, due to the constant automatic control, it is usually higher and at the same level as the automatic mode.

battery life

The 2,500 mAh battery on the Tineco Pure One A50s provides about 40 minutes of runtime in Eco mode, which is a good value. In Max mode, the running time is significantly reduced to just over 10 minutes – which is still acceptable, especially since the Eco mode is enough for the automatic system. Charging time is about 3 hours.

price

The Tineco Pure One A50S has an RRP of 299 euros from the manufacturer and was priced at around 299 euros at the time of testing. 250 euros To get.

conclusion

The Tineco Pure One A50S is a versatile cordless vacuum cleaner that is particularly effective on hard floors. Its intelligent floor brush and bright LED are obvious plus points, the suction power and workmanship is good too. The weaknesses in handling carpets are a shame, as the cleaning performance there is also fine – especially for this price range. Limited accessories also fit it, but this limits the field of application.

Vacuum cleaners are a good choice primarily for homes with hard floors, but less so for carpeted owners. Overall, the Tineco Pure One A50s offers solid performance at a reasonable price.
