A famous costume worn by the late “Star Wars” actress Carrie Fisher has been auctioned off in the United States for the equivalent of more than 160,000 euros. The gold bikini costume with matching hip and arm rings sold for $175,000 at Heritage Auctions in Dallas.

Fisher, who died in December 2016 at age 60, once owned the dress Reluctantly dressed in the role of Princess Leia in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. In the 1983 film, Leia was kept as a personal slave by crime boss Jabba, after which he himself strangled her with the chain that bound her to his throne. The costume was designed by Richard Miller.

Heritage Auctions advertised it thus, “Without question, Carrie Fisher’s ‘Slave Leia’ costume is one of the most memorable in the Star Wars franchise.” In addition to the Leia costume, a miniature version of the Y-wing spacecraft used in the filming of the first Star Wars film was auctioned for $1.55 million (1.4 million euros).
According to the British Guardian, Leia’s bikini costume was listed for auction in 2015 — at the time, it sold for $96,000.
