Suction mops make mopping much easier. Instead of using a bucket, cloth and scrubber, all you have to do is press a button and the cordless vacuum cleaner with mopping function is ready. Mixed variants such as the Roborock Diad Pro Combo (test report), which offers all the advantages of the Roborock Diad Pro vacuum cleaner (test report) but also transforms into a pure cordless vacuum cleaner with fewer steps, show that the similarities outweigh the existing differences.
The Roborock Dyad Air takes a different approach. While its sibling models are expensive all-rounders, Roborock focuses on basic functions with the Air and gives it a comparatively low price tag. The Air is the first suction mop in the Dyad series that does not feature the usual double roller and no longer has an additional tank for cleaning agents, but retains the ability to mop without rims and dry the mopping roller with warm air once the job is done. In testing we saw just how good the Dyad Air really is.
What are the key features of the Roborock Dyad Air?

Design: What does the Roborock Dyad Air look like?
The Roborock Diad Air has a stylish, compact design that looks good in modern homes. Weighing just 4.1 kg, it is lighter than other models and is easy to move around thanks to its nimble body. The similarity to other models in the Diad series cannot be denied. The device has a 900 ml fresh water tank, which is now located at the top of the body, above which a display provides information about the status of the device.
A 770ml dirty water tank can also be removed from the front and placed under the fresh water tank. Instead of the two brushes of the more expensive Diad Pro, the Diad Air uses a wide single brush with fairly soft fibres for effective dirt pickup. It is installed in such a way that there is almost no space on the right side edge, but there is on the left side due to the suspension of the roll.
How is the cleaning performance of the Roborock Dyad Air?
The motor of the Roborock Dyad Air delivers an impressive 17,000 Pa suction power. This means that it can handle both dry dust and crumbs as well as moist and liquid dirt. Cleaning is supported by a so-called Direct Sensor. It detects the level of dirt on the floor and automatically adjusts the suction power, brush rotation and water volume. The level of contamination can be read in real time via the display, but the automatic mode does not require the user to intervene manually.
In our test, liquid and thick dirt were removed very well in just one pass. For dry stains, the Diad Air needed more passes, but showed good cleaning results here too. Amazing: You can’t really tell the difference between the Diad models with two counter-rotating wiping rollers.
Top 5: Best storage for bicycles and e-bikes – bicycle lifts, wall systems, etc.
As described, edge cleaning only works well on the right side due to the suspension of the wiper roller, leaving a few centimeters of space on the left. However, this rarely causes problems in everyday life. We really liked the battery performance of the Dyad Air, in the test the suction mop lasted about 25 minutes at the highest level set manually, and in everyday life and in automatic mode, the Air cleans for up to 45 minutes in one pass. A floor of about 140 square meters (gross) in one passage is no problem.
Like most vacuum mops, the Robrock Dyad Air is generally very mobile when used and requires little effort, but you can hardly reach under furniture with it. This device does not allow the body to be lowered more than about 45 degrees. If you move the handle closer to the floor to get under furniture, the brush head will automatically rise above the floor. Also, tilting the body too low can cause water leakage.

Does the Roborock Dyad Air have an app?
The Roborock Dyad Air is equipped with a number of convenient functions that make cleaning easier. With the touch of a button on the handle you can switch between different modes such as Auto, Max, Vacuum Only and Eco. The device notifies you via voice output if the water tank is empty or the dirty water tank is full. Surprisingly, Roborock continues to put lousy speakers for such statements in its Dyad models. The included app also offers setting options for cleaning and maintenance. This is nice, but like the competition, it’s not really necessary.
It is practical that the vacuum cleaner can be put down for a short time during use and no water will come out. This was different with the first Roborock Dyad (test report). Once the job is done, the brush can be put into the station to be cleaned automatically and then dried with hot air. This prevents bacteria and odors.

conclusion
With the Roborock Diad Air you get a powerful and versatile vacuum cleaner at an attractive price. Thanks to its high suction power and intelligent sensors it is an efficient aid for hard floors. Easy to use, well-thought-out features and practical self-cleaning make the Diad Air a recommended household assistant. Compared to the Diad Pro, it has no additional features such as a dosing unit and a double brush, but the core of the cheaper relative impresses with solid technology and good cleaning results as well as good battery life.
