The sovereign tech agency has announced investment in the eclipse Foundation. By the end of the year, a total of 515,000 Euro flows into the project. The purpose of this amount is to help expand the infrastructure and safety of the project and it is for two initiatives. On the one hand, the software supply chain is to be made within the eclipse Foundation, on the other hand, a better vulnerability management is planned.

In the future, the software piece will be integrated into the construction pipelines of individual projects within the eclipse foundation. The funding of the sovereign technology agency works to identify the appropriate SBOM tool, update of build processes and the construction of a central SBOM registration for all eclipse projects. In addition, SBOM generation support is planned for all products of integrated growth environment (IDE). It should be ensured that all users of IDE can create SBOM for their projects.
