Newgan Medical’s Smart Ring provides health tracking for finger: Pulse, steps and sleep monitoring. Our test shows what cheap smart ring can do.
Newgan Medical Smart Ring connects the functions of a fitness tracker to a compact ring. It measures pulse, counts stages and monitors sleep – everything without a performance and a space -a space -a type that is especially suitable for users who do not want to wear a watch. With the entry value of 90 Euro The ring also provides an attractive price-demonstration ratio. This test shows where the hook is and how the ring is in everyday life.
Design and comfort
We tested the silver model with size 63 (circumference; us size 10). Visually, the ring is standing out through a special feature: there is a black area on the outside that reacts to touching the input. Till now we have seen it with another smart ring. Music breeding can be started or the camera of the smartphone can be triggered by it. However, the field is not intended for tasks such as starting fitness tracking. Paper looks exciting as a feature, in practice we found it annoying – Spotify was accidentally started several times on the smartphone. Finally, we neutralized the touch function.
In addition to the touch area, the ring is made of stainless steel. Compared to the model of amazfit or samsung, it becomes thinner, but it is quite widespread – which makes it look more largely on the finger. At about 5 grams it is heavier than most contestants. You can feel clearly the ring while sleeping at night. Anyone who has not worn the ring yet, has to get used to it.
The workmanship is not particularly high quality: after a few weeks in the test, the first signs of the wear were shown – the painting was loose in many places. Gold and silver in ring colors are available in many sizes. There is no test kit to determine the right size, buyers will have to measure the perimeter themselves. The ring is waterproofing up to 5 ATMs and therefore suitable for use when swimming.

Tracking and work
The features of the ring include counting steps, heartbeat as well as blood oxygen saturation and skin temperature. The ring also monitors sleep-as you know from a fitness tracker or smartwatch. We used Huawei Watch Fit 3 (Test Report) as a reference for comparison. To use the app, you have to install the AIJO Ring App. These are available for both Android and iOS. However, some translation errors are negative here.
When it comes to sports functions, the limit of ring functions is manageable: Aizo is running only as activities to choose in the ring app, walking and riding bicycles. Pulse measurement provides comparable values for our reference tools in rest mode. However, the sensor reflects significant weaknesses under stress: while our smartwatch recorded a pulse of more than 150 strokes per minute during spinning, the ring showed only 110 heartbeat – a significant deviation.
Overall, the step is solid. Although the prescribed values are not highly accurately accurately accurate, the measurement remains largely stable for repetition – the ups and raids were within narrow boundaries in the test. A plus point: Unlike many other fitness rings, which only occupy body temperature at night, the model of Newgan Medical allows manual temperature measurements at any time of the day at any time of the day.
Sleep monitoring divides the night’s sleep in normal stages, light sleep and divides into RAM. In addition, waking stages and pulse development are logged in during the night. Depending on this data, the app evaluates the quality of sleep. Compared to Huawei Watch Fit 3, however, the data sometimes deviates significantly. Especially when identifying the waking ups, the ring shows similar weaknesses such as many smartwatches – not every blockage is not correctly recognized. Overall, however, we consider sleep tracking as useful-for some tendency of less sleep quality.
An unexpected point of criticism was shown in everyday examination: the ring could interfere with sleep – not the wearer, but the person next to it. Pulse measurement by infrared sensors ensures a clearly visible light in the dark, which allows sensitive contemporaries to wake up.
One location function is completely missing: the ring cannot be found either through Bluetooth or any other method, should it be lost. So users should pay special attention to where they put them.
Battery and shop
In the test, the ring lasted for about four days with permanent wear. If you do not use it at night, you can get a duration of up to five days. Not involved in a loading or storage case. Eventually, Newgan Medical provides a magnetic charger on which the ring is busy. This is a USB a connection.
price
Newgan Medical has a 100 euro RRP and is also sold by Pearl via Amazon and eBay. Size 63 (US size 10; 63 mm circumference) its cost 90 EuroThis is in 65 (US size 11) 100 EuroThere is also Size 57 as well as 68There is a single Gold version,
conclusion
Pearl’s smart ring surprises with a solid value-demonstration ratio. From about 90 euros, it provides solid basic function, everyday battery life and easy operation. Strength is clearly in health and sleep tracking- even if the results of the measurement are not consistently accurate. The ring is less suitable for ambitious fitness trekking, but is an interesting option as a simple introduction to the world of wearables. If you can live in darkness with missing location function and visible light emissions, you will have a lot of work at a small price.
