Expansion of the product line in Beats: Apple has given its daughter a new task for the introduction of the iPhone 16 & Co. Beats was previously known only for audio products, and before the launch of Apple Music it was also known for its music streaming service. The Apple subsidiary currently sells over-ear and on-ear headphones, earplugs, and – recently again – portable speakers. Now “Case Beats” have been added, available for 59 euros each. There is no price difference between device sizes or product lines (Standard or Pro).

These cases are offered in four colors with Apple and Beats’ distinctive creative names: “Velvet Black”, “Rock Beige”, “Pacific Blue” and “Evening Purple”. Case Beats aims to represent a “fresh outfit for your iPhone” and is made of polycarbonate, which, however, appears to be quite slippery and semi-stable. However, according to Beats, “thousands of hours of testing have been completed” to protect iPhones from scratches and drops – whether this also applies to those cases remains to be seen. Microfiber cloth was used inside.

Like most current iPhone cases, the Beats Case supports Apple’s MagSafe wireless charging standard. Integrated magnets are installed for this purpose. Camera controls, Apple’s new button for photos and videos, can also be used on the case. Instead of leaving the area blank, a “sapphire cap with a conductive layer” was integrated to transmit the signal. Initial tests will certainly determine whether it works as intended.

Apple recently revised its range of cases for smartphones and after prolonged criticism, removed the controversial FineWoven material from the range. The company currently sells only the MagSafe Wallet (magnetic credit card pocket for iPhone) and the AirTag Keychain made of plastic textile material, which falls apart surprisingly quickly during use.
