Structure, optics and workmanship of Navee S65D
Like most e-scooters, the construction of the Navee S65D is extremely simple. After unpacking, you only have to tighten four screws to fix the handlebar. The tire pressure should be checked before your first ride. For this we recommend taking a look at our top 10 list: Best electric air pump with battery. We also strongly recommend wearing a helmet – we show suitable models in our top 7: Best smart bicycle helmets.
Visually, the S65D makes a very attractive impression. The design is minimalist and streamlined, reminiscent of the Xiaomi Mi 4 Ultra (test report). There are hardly any loose parts, almost everything is seamlessly integrated. Only one cable is visible from handlebar to handlebar – a stark contrast to the tangled cables of the comparatively expensive Isinwheel T4 (test report). The consistent matte grey colour scheme is only broken up by subtle red stripes on the front and rear suspension.
The quality of workmanship is also impressive. All components fit tightly, nothing wobbles or rattles. Only the handlebar has minimal play, but it is within normal limits. The rear mudguard is strong and looks sturdy enough. With a maximum payload of 120 kg, the S65D is also suitable for heavy drivers. The IPX5 certification also certifies that the e-scooter is protected from water jets from all directions.
This is how the Navee S65D works
The folding mechanism works perfectly. The safety lever can be operated smoothly but still safely. When folded, the handlebar can be mounted on the rear mudguard. This means that the 24 kg e-scooter can be easily lifted and carried using the handlebar. The dimensions have been reduced from 1222 mm × 551 mm × 1266 mm to 1222 mm × 549 mm × 539 mm. This means that the S65D fits easily into most trunks.

Navee S65D handlebar and display
The handlebars of the Navee S65D appear streamlined and functional. The handles are pleasantly soft, though not ergonomically shaped. The right side has a smooth thumb grip for speed control. It has a multifunctional button integrated to turn on and off, control the lights and change the support level. The front light is bright and is integrated neatly into the handlebar quite high up. The rear light is also bright enough, it also lights up when braking.
The only brake handle and two buttons for the turn signals are located on the left side of the handlebar. The indicators themselves are located at the ends of the handlebars and are pleasantly bright when activated. Unfortunately, the indicator does not turn off automatically and there is no additional indicator at the back. If you want to retrofit your e-scooter with an indicator, you will find suitable recommendations in our top 5: best indicators for e-scooters for retrofitting.
The color display is integrated into the middle of the handlebar. It shows the current speed (without decimal places), the selected support level and the battery capacity in the form of bars. Readability is limited in direct sunlight.

The Xiaomi Home app is required to pair and control the e-scooter. The mandatory registration and assignment to a “room” seems a bit complicated. In addition, a 45-second safety video must be watched before first use. The scooter can be locked in the app and a warning tone will sound when you push it away. Since the e-scooter can be easily transported, we also recommend installing a lock. Our list of the best smart bike locks has tips on this. Adjustable energy recovery in three stages is useful. In addition, the app offers little additional value.

To drive
The driving behavior of the Navee S65D is reassuring. The soft suspension at the front and rear ensures an exceptionally comfortable ride. Even with a modest load of less than 80 kg there is a noticeable spring travel. You always stand on the suspended running boards, which is reminiscent of sitting on an old, soft sofa. Irregularities such as potholes, stones or curbs are absorbed better than most competing models. The tubeless 10-inch pneumatic tires also contribute to a comfortable driving experience.
Ergonomics are good too. The handlebars are pleasantly high and wide, and the running boards are generously sized. This means even tall drivers can find a comfortable position.
The 450-watt motor (950-watt peak) is located at the rear wheel and performs well. It quickly accelerates even heavy drivers to maximum speed. Although there are more powerful motors on the market, their power is sufficient for most applications. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not provide any information about torque.
According to the display, the S65D reaches a top speed of 22 km/h. However, in practice, we measured only 20 km/h using GPS measurements. The brake simultaneously activates the drum brake on the front wheel and the electric brake on the rear wheel. Nevertheless, the speed can be finely controlled. When you brake hard, the e-scooter stops quickly and safely.
Battery
According to the manufacturer, the Navee S65D’s battery capacity is 612 Wh, it should cover a maximum range of up to 65 km under ideal conditions. In practice, the actual range depends heavily on factors such as driver weight, driving style, temperature and route profile. A driver weighing 80 kg and driving briskly in city traffic can expect around 25 to 30 km. This is a solid value for this price range.
price
Navee S65D price is 699 euros Available on Amazon. This places it in the middle price segment. Considering the equipment offered with suspension, indicators and powerful engine, the price seems reasonable.

conclusion
The Navee S65D impressed in the test as a comfortable all-rounder. The full equipment with suspension, indicators and powerful engine is unique in this price range. The gentle driving experience is particularly positive due to the soft suspension. The workmanship and design are also impressive.
Small weaknesses such as the display being difficult to read in sunlight or the lack of a removable battery are hardly important given the many strengths. For 699 euros you get a very well-equipped e-scooter that is suitable for both city commuters and recreational riders in the country.
