Microsoft teams should provide an opportunity to stop unauthorized screen shots of team conferences in future. The content of the conference such as shared screen material or webcam ideas of individual participants should be better preserved.
In form of Microsoft 365 Roadmap The software company works on a related function that is called “stop screen capture” (“stop screen recording”). When it becomes active, Windows Window turns black with team conference as a user tries to take screen recording.
Old team versions are banned
Microsoft does not provide more accurate information, but logically it should only be with users who are trying to use the screen. However, it is still not clear whether the new function will be switched by default or whether the organizers of a conference must first switch to them. In theory, it would also be comprehensible to enable all participants to make decisions personally – then screen recording will no longer be possible as a user bans screen recording.
However, this may be stupid to users whose devices do not support the new function: In the future, they should only be able to participate with the audio view if your team client does not support the new function. Here, Microsoft has more accurate information that the constellation can fall under this category. On the other hand, if you have only an old team version, you will get stuck quickly: Microsoft team customers want the age of 90 days.

The new function is planned for Android, Windows, Mac, iOS and Team Web apps and is going to come in July 2025. Of course, undesirable shots of team conferences cannot be stopped. With the new function, it would be possible to take a film or photo of the screen with an external camera, for example your own smartphone.
Microsoft’s approach is a little reminiscent of Netflix. Streaming provider also strictly tries to prevent screen shots while users stream their content. In the past, for example, video software users reported observation Observation aid forumThe browser window with Netflix was only black and recorded without sound.
Screenshot restriction too to remember?
It also becomes exciting how the screenshot ban in teams should match with controversial microsoft recall. Because it is more or less in creating screenshots from the user’s screen – later to evaluate them with Microsoft’s Ki Copilot and offer the user a useful recurrence of its activities, it admits the microsoft. Recall is not yet available in the European Union – but Microsoft usually will have to consider what fits together with the ban on screen shots in teams. Roadmap is also silent about this.
