macOS 15 Sequoia is apparently coming in early September

According to a report, macOS 15 aka Sequoia could appear in mid-September alongside iOS 18. As Macrumors sources claim, the update should did not back down this time Becoming. The new Mac operating system is unlikely to arrive until October. Last year, macOS 14 aka Sonoma was released in late September, although a good week after iOS 17.

The reason for the joint release appears to be that macOS 15 and iOS 18 bring some joint functions. This includes the cross-platform feature iPhone Mirroring, with which you can operate your Apple smartphone from your Mac. However, this function will not initially be available within the EU as Apple wants to avoid regulations through the Digital Market Act (DMA). There will also be a new Passwords app on all new systems, which also allows synchronization. It would also make sense to release fresh operating systems for Mac, iPhone and (hopefully) iPad at the same time.

Even more important than the new update, however, is Apple’s fall event with the new iPhones. There has been recent speculation as to whether Apple could push the early September date forward. New smartphones are always presented about ten days before the actual market launch; the distribution of the new iOS usually takes place in between. In 2023, the iPhone 15 hits the market on September 22 with all four models, while iOS 17 comes out on September 18. The presentation of the new iPhones took place once again on September 12.

The new macOS offers many new features. This includes the aforementioned iPhone mirroring, a new tiling function for windows, revised versions of the Mail, Maps, Notes and Safari browsers, as well as a new Passwords app.

However, the really big AI innovations that many users are waiting for will appear later – Apple Intelligence, which should also be available immediately on Macs in Europe, is coming in the first parts (and initially only in the US English language version) of macOS 15.1, which should not be released until October. Perhaps that’s why Apple is releasing macOS 15 so early.
