Mac with M4: sales will apparently start in November

As was the case last year, Apple will likely not bring new Macs to market until November. As a knowledgeable source told MacRumors over the weekend, things will be similar to last year. At that time, Apple showed off M3 models of the MacBook Pro and iMac during the “Scary Fast” event on October 30 and then sold them starting November 7. “Similar events may occur this year as well,” the report says.

Self-organized event in October

First of all, Apple will introduce four new iPhone models on September 9. There will also be two revised series of Apple Watch (Series 10 and Ultra 3) as well as new AirPods. Apple prefers to use October to introduce new Macs and iPads, the latter waiting for the new mini model. When it was released in November There will be at least some time for Christmas business. All new models should be equipped with the M4 SoC – which is currently only found in the iPad Pro M4.

Apple could also announce new computer models via a press release. However, the switch to new chips is actually reason enough for an event. What to expect from the new Macs?

At least four new M4 Macs are expected in October. Two should be notebooks and two desktops. There could be two new basic MacBook Pro models with 14 and 16 inches, a 24-inch iMac M4 and a redesigned Mac mini that will reportedly be smaller than the current one – and a completely outdated model in terms of form factor.

However, the new Mac Studio and Mac Pro models, as well as the MacBook Air M4, are not expected to arrive until next year – machines may also appear with the successor SoC M5. Rumors believe that Apple will once again launch the M4 in standard, Pro and Max versions. An Ultra version will be reserved for the Mac Studio and/or Mac Pro. The hardware should otherwise be identical to its predecessors – with the exception of the mentioned new Mac mini.
