According to the manufacturer, the Ace Pro 2 has a dedicated, dual-core AI chip that will help with image improvement and handling. One core of the dual chip is specifically responsible for image optimization. Helps with other core camera-internal functions: for example, the chip supports recognition of gestures and voice commands with which you can control the Ace Pro 2. Additionally, a highlight assistant should highlight the best moments of recording internally in the camera, which should save time when viewing.

Insta360 developed the camera in collaboration with Leica. For example, Leica was involved in optics and developed its own color profile for film recording, aimed at ensuring a special aesthetic.

The Ace Pro 2 films with a wide shooting angle of 157 degrees and has a 1/1.3-inch sensor. Like its predecessor, it records video in 8K (7680 x 4320 or 7680 x 3272 pixels). The refresh rate is now a maximum of 30 frames per second instead of just 24 frames per second. As before, the camera films 4K at up to 60 frames per second, but HDR recording at up to 60 fps is also now possible. Image stabilization, which the manufacturer calls “Flostate”, aims to ensure smooth and shake-free video. Also new is an AI-supported “PureVideo” mode, which aims to record low-noise clips in low light.

Like other action cameras, the Ace Pro 2 has slow motion and time lapse modes. A recording can be paused and resumed later in the same file.

Like its predecessor, the Ace Pro 2 has three microphones built-in. They aim to better filter out irritating noise like wind by using algorithms, among other things. A new, removable windscreen is also intended to reduce noise.

Other headsets and headphones can also be connected via Bluetooth for better sound. For example, you can use Apple’s AirPods or AirPods Pro, Samsung’s Galaxy Buds, or Huawei’s FreeBuds Pro 2 as microphones. Motorcycle headsets from Sena or Cairo also work with the Ace Pro 2.

Insta360 also lists the DJI Mic 2 as compatible. All compatible headsets should also support dual-track audio.

Battery capacity has increased from 1650 mAh to 1800 mAh, and play time is said to have increased from about 100 minutes to 180 minutes when recording in 4K at 30 fps. The camera fully charges within 47 minutes using a 30-watt power supply.

For post-processing, Insta360 offers a free app of the same name, which aims to enable convenient editing on your smartphone. The app also supports other cameras like the Go 3S or X4. It can automatically cut clips together using AI and provides some templates. If you use a selfie stick, you can also remove it using the app. app is for Android And iOS Available and requires Android 10 or higher and iOS 12. The chip must also be fast enough: Android devices should use the Snapdragon 845, Kirin 990 or Exynos 220 for iPhones and iPads; It should be at least A12.
