Anyone who currently uses iCloud services on the web through Apple’s portal icloud.com You are greeted by the news screen. Apple has improved the range of its services accessible through the browser and cleaned up some areas. This affects the entire web app and many individual programs like Calendar, iCloud Drive, and the Photos app.

Make yourself comfortable on the web
In terms of appearance, it’s worth noting that iCloud.com is now also available in Night Mode (Dark Mode) for the first time. This happens automatically based on computer settings. So if the Mac is set to switch to dark mode in the evening, the website will do the same. Unfortunately, we didn’t find any switch to set the mode manually — surely there are users who only want to see web apps “in the dark,” not the rest of the Mac interface.
If you don’t like the standard blue look, you can now choose from five additional colors – a configuration option that can be found if you scroll all the way down (or through Settings). There’s no option to set your own background image – but that would likely just create chaos in the web app.
News in individual apps
Apple has made some improvements to iCloud apps that can be accessed via the web. The design of the calendar is a bit beautiful and clear at first glance and it now also supports the Islamic calendar (Hijri). iCloud Drive has a separate tab for shared files. The Reminders app has reminder lists for better sorting, and individual ones can be pinned to Notes.
iCloud Photos can now adjust the location, date and time via the notification bar and display albums in a new tile view on the homepage, for example navigation between months and years has also been improved. All the new features on iCloud.com are now available and visible when you log in to the web interface. For example, there are no plans to return to the old form of the Calendar app – as with web apps, all users will receive the update. iCloud+ costs 99 cents per month (50 GB) with more storage and additional services, with only 5 GB free.
