Withings is expanding its smartwatch portfolio with new models featuring classic, elegant looks. At IFA in Berlin, the French digital health specialist is showing off the new ScanWatch Nova Brilliant Edition, which will be available from November.
With a multi-link steel bracelet and fluted bezel, the design is taken from a classic model from a renowned Swiss watchmaker. The smartwatch with a stainless steel strap is available in “Titanium Silver” and “Bicolor” (silver and gold) color variants. According to the manufacturer, the fluted bezel of the silver version is made of titanium.

The case of the hybrid smartwatch is made of stainless steel and has a diameter of 39 mm. It is waterproof up to 50 m (5 ATM). A high-resolution round grayscale OLED display with a diameter of 1.6 cm (14,504 pixels, 282 ppi pixel density and 16-bit grayscale) sits under the sapphire crystal. The second analog display can be used to determine progress towards the daily step goal. The indices of the dial and needles are filled with Superluminova luminous material.
The internal values ​​are otherwise in line with the Withings models ScanWatch 2 and ScanWatch Nova introduced last year. According to the manufacturer, they offer 30 days of battery life. The hybrid smartwatch connects to the Withings app on a smartphone (iOS/Android) via Bluetooth Low Energy.
The watch shows notifications from the smartphone, various sports events and vital signs recorded by the sensors on the display. The watch should also detect atrial fibrillation using the ECG function. The watch also measures changes in heart rate and body temperature during the night and determines the level of oxygen in the blood. Finally, the ScanWatch 2 can monitor sleep and the female cycle.
The ScanWatch Nova Brilliant will be available from the beginning of November at selected retailers and the manufacturer’s online shop for less than 600 euros. In addition to the steel band, the scope of delivery also includes a plastic bracelet with a stainless steel clasp and a tool for shortening the steel band. A charging cradle and a suitable USB cable are also included.
