The operator of photo agency service Getty Images has introduced an update to its AI image generator, which can be used to integrate product images and create new images based on reference photos.

The provider relies on commercial security: In late 2023, Getty Images presented its AI image generator, which was created in collaboration with Nvidia. They were trained with photos from the Getty and iStock creative libraries, i.e. exclusively with content for which the provider has a license.
Its purpose is to prevent copyright infringement lawsuits. Additionally, Getty Images offers automatic legal protection of $10,000 per image.
Generate product photos
Getty Images’ image generator aims to create professional looking product images as per the current updates. Its purpose is to save time and cost in marketing and advertising campaigns. Users can upload their own product images and create a background after entering a prompt. The image generator must mix and adjust light and shadow.
The service does not automatically issue image motifs. Getty Images also offers a tool online for this purpose. However, a Photoshop professional will probably achieve better results.

According to the provider, after uploading a product image and entering a prompt, the image generator does the rest.

reference image function
The color and image structure of the image generator can be controlled using reference images. Competitors Dell-E, MidJourney, Adobe Firefly and Stable Diffusion also provide a comparable function. The look can often be controlled more easily and better by using a reference image than by using a text prompt.
Uploaded reference images specify color palette and image composition upon request. The target here is a mushroom that is similar in shape and color to an umbrella.
