Web developers who want to take their first steps towards accessibility are in the right place at Sophie Johanning’s workshop: On November 6th, she will show participants what they should pay attention to in terms of HTML, CSS and JavaScript in order to create an accessible website. HTML and CSS knowledge is required, JavaScript knowledge is optional. Among other things, it will be about meaningful labels and captions as well as the structure of a website – so that it can be correctly interpreted by assistive technologies such as screen readers. Practical exercises are part of the workshop.

Marc Haunschild will focus in particular on the European standard EN 301 549 in his workshop on November 19, but also on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
