EM 2024: Watch all games from 7.50 euros – Telekom, Waipu.tv and RTL

The time has finally come after June 14 and the European Football Championship is taking place again in Germany. But if you want to watch all the games from the comfort of your home, you face two problems.

On the one hand, there is the elimination of Extra cost privilegeswhich we will discuss in more detail in the second paragraph. On the other hand, if you really want to follow all the European Championship games live, you will need access to different streaming providers. But which matches are broadcast where?

You can enjoy most of the games comfortably on free TV. ARD and ZDF will broadcast 34 games live, including all the games of the German national team. In addition, broadcaster RTL shows an additional 12 games. A total of four preliminary round games and one round of 16 will be shown exclusively Magenta TV broadcast.

Dazn, Zattoo, Sky or Joyn are completely uninteresting for the 2024 European Championship.

This means that the Telekom streaming service has control over all the games. There are 12 games on RTL. ÖR is only allowed to broadcast 34 of the remaining 51 games.

The so-called additional cost privilege, which involves the transfer of cable television costs to tenants, will be completely abolished in mid-2024. So if you want to use cable TV after July 1, 2024, you have to arrange the connection yourself as early as possible by June 2024. Since the beginning of the year, numerous TV streaming providers have been competing for the attention of potential customers – often with significant price discounts. We have researched which current offers offer the most content and where the greatest savings potential exists. Below we take a closer look at the providers with the best offers at present – Magenta TV, RTL and Waipu.tv. Complete failure at the opening: it was difficult or impossible to access telecoms, including the streaming service Magenta, until June 14, 2024. Bookings were not possible and the internet and streams were severely restricted. We were only able to subscribe on June 15: after waiting for about an hour and more than 11,000 people in front of us in the queue, we were able to complete the subscription.

But still: you can watch all European Football Championship games live only on Magenta TV. And if you have a subscription, it works great too!

New packages have come in the name of Telecom from February 15, 2024Smart 2.0. Anyone who opts for a 24-month term will get the first 6-7 months completely free. If you prefer the monthly cancellation option, you pay the full price straight away.

The price of the cheapest package “Magenta TV Smart” is effective at the moment7.50 Eurosper month, providing 100 hours of recording storage and three parallel streams.

“Flex” and “Flex Smart” options are also available from 10 euros, ideal for users who only want to follow EM and then easily cancel their subscription. The duration of both packages is limited to only 4 weeks. Difference between “flex” And “Flex Smart “Flex Smart” also includes the RTL+ Premium subscription for an additional fee of 5 euros per month.

VisionOS 2: When people can shake hands

“Magenta TV SmartStream 2.0” is the name of the next biggest offer, which includes both regular television and streaming services. Effectively you are here11 Euros of the month. In addition to the 180-plus channels RTL+ Premium offers, you also get Netflix Standard (with ads) and Disney+ (with ads).

If you want Netflix and Disney+ without ads, you can pay for the “Mazestream 2.0” package,Effectively20 EurosOne month.

Analogous to the streaming subscription, Telekom (new) customers receive unlimited data volume on cell phone tariffs. We have summarized all the information elsewhere.

The entry-level package is called Comfort and is already available7.50 EurosAvailable monthly. Includes 201 channels, 165 of which are in HD, playable in two parallel streams, as well as 50 hours of recording with a notice period of one month.

The next bigger package is called Perfect Plus and it offers 246 channels in HD, 64 pay TV channels, 100 hours of recording and 4 parallel streams. Starting from the second month, the first month is free13 EurosDue.

If you really want to save, you should take a look at the 4K stick from Waipu.tv. This is what it costs at the moment 59.99 eurosoffered. The “Perfect Plus” subscription worth 143 euros for 1 year is also free. If you add the cost of the stick – which is sold at a retail price of 50 euros at Gizzlies – as well as the one-time shipping cost of 4.99 euros, you can save around 133 euros with this offer in comparison.

There is even a special sports mode for the European Championships. It radically reduces the delay in the transmission signal. According to tests carried out by our colleagues at C’T, goals are scored up to 30 seconds faster on the home screen than on other streaming providers such as Magenta TV or Zattoo.

“Sports mode” is activated for the Das Erste HD and ZDF HD channels, on which the games of the German team can be watched during the European Football Championship.

RTL broadcasts a total of 12 games live and semi-exclusively, as these games are also available on Magenta TV. The current EM package on RTL costs 3.33 euros per month. But in fact you don’t need it. If you pay 10 euros for a month in Magenta, you will get all the games. There are a total of 5 games exclusively in Magenta, so some live broadcasts are also missing in RTL.

Magenta TV had a very bad start. There have been connection issues since the inauguration day, June 14. The service was unavailable for hours. Our booking was done on June 15, after a queue of 11,000 other people.

Nevertheless, the telecom brand Magenta broadcasts all sports. Waipu.tv cannot even keep up with the useful sports mode. From our point of view, RTL is completely uninteresting.
