E-scooter NIU KQI 100f in Testing

In testing, NIU KQI 100F asserts its excellent folding mechanism, solid processing and great value-demonstration ratio. This makes the ideal for daily commuters traffic.

The e-scooter market is now so diverse that is the right model for every application. The NIU KQI 100F commuters keep itself in the e -scooter category as it can be shared especially easily and compactly. So it also fits into a small trunk. You do not need to solve the bike ticket on the train or in S-Ban. With the price of 380 Euro It moves in the lower midfield. The test shows how good it is really.

Structure, optics and processing

The structure is very easy: since the handlebars can be twisted, no screws are required. It also fits an e-scooter in a comparatively small shipping box. Important: Tire pressure should be checked before the first trip. We recommend wearing a helmet in every trip.

NIU KQI 100F blind color has been thanked to lots of black and gray without highlight. With dimensions of 115 × 59 × 123 cm, it is also quite compact. The running board with 44 × 13 cm is also quite small.

Despite its narrow construction, KQI can wear 100F 120 kg-a very good value for e-scooter in this size orbit. With IPX5 certification, there are no problems in rain. The processing is overall solid, in which the steering rod is minimally faltering. The rear protective sheet is made of plastic and should not be loaded too much. The cable management is well solved in the lower area, but some cables appear on the handber, which then disappear in the handler.

The larger plus point of KQI 100F is its excellent folding system. The safety lever is smooth and the hole in the upper part of the handler is safely evacuated on the back shelter. A special feature: Handbars can also be bended down, which is rarely found in the e-scooter. The entire folding system can be operated with one hand and still holds firmly. With only 17.6 kg weight and 115 × 18 × 50 cm compact folding dimensions, e-scooters are ideal for passengers that transport it to train, S-ban or trunk.

Lenker and demonstration

The KQI 100F handler may be slightly wide. A turn signal is sitting at the end, but there is no additional turn signal on the back of the e-scooter. The performance is not kept in the middle, but is placed on the right and looks a bit. In direct sunlight, it strongly reflects and then it is difficult to read.

There are three buttons for functions on the display/closed, step changes, turn signals and lights. The brake handle on the left connects electrical motor brakes with a drum brake on the front side. This combination works well, even though we already had e-scooters in the test that came in a standstill. A gentle braking is possible without any problem. The bell on the left looks a bit chunky and is not integrated in a very elegant manner. The gas ring on the right is pleasant smooth.

In the middle of the handler, an alternative mobile phone holder can be attached directly by NIU – a practical accessory for everyone who wants to keep an eye on your smartphone while driving.

The front light sits high, which increases visibility in road traffic. It is quite bright, but cannot be adjusted in the beam angle. However, the default has been well chosen. The rear lights are permanently switched and there is also light when braking.

KQI 100F comes with an app that enables some adjustment. This includes early speed (between 3 and 6 km/h), repetition strength to expand the lifespan of the battery and the maximum load range (80, 90 or 100 percent). Driving characteristics can also be adjusted – from Chilly Until Wild A adjustable top speed in acceleration and between 5 and 20 km/h.

To drive

KQI 100F is a fairly small e-scooter, which may be uncomfortable for older people in a long time. The handberlar is located close to the body due to the bent angle of handber, which can make the journey uncomfortable for a long time.

With a diameter of 9.5 inch and 2.3 inch, air tires simultaneously ensure a passive driving experience on the bumpy routes at the front with a 36 mm double piston suspension. Nevertheless, the difference of 10-inch air strips is clearly noticeable. An additional suspension on the rear wheel would be desirable. However, the combination for regular travel in the city is sufficient and sometimes revolve around the areas of the area.

The engine sits on the rear wheel and works with a voltage of 48 volts. This is not particularly stronger, with a nominal production of 300 watt (600 watt peak) and 18 Nm of torque. NIU indicates a maximum of 15 percent climb. Nevertheless, he accelerates maximum speed in a fair time. The performance shows 21 km/hr, which we were able to confirm using GPS measurements. The KQI 100F is thus close to the legally allowed maximum.

Battery

At 243 wh, the KQI 100F battery is relatively small. According to NIU, it should be sufficient to the range of 29 km, but it was measured under ideal conditions. In fact, we come up to about 20 km with 80 kg payload, cold weather, quick drive and lots of stop-end-goes. The e-scooter then has to return to the net.

The battery is not removable. The power supply supplied is easily attached to accessible charging plugs in the middle of the footboard. The loading time is 5 – 6 hours.

price

NIU KQI 100F Cost 380 Euro And thus ranks itself in the lower midfield of the e-scooter with road approval.

conclusion

NIU KQI 100F e-scooter is mainly suitable for commutors who value low weight and compact dimensions. With their well thought -folding mechanism, including handberlasses, and low weight of only 17.6 kg, it is ideal for transportation in public transport or trunk.

The processing is overall solid, even if there are small weaknesses such as a little bitter steering tube. The engine provides sufficient power for the city’s traffic and firmly brings the driver to a maximum speed of 21 km/h. The combination of air tires and front suspension also ensures a decent driving experience even at uneven distance.

There is criticism for small batteries, which is rare with a realistic 20 km range for long -term commuter routes. Performance placed on the side, which is strongly reflected in the radiation of the sun, and the handlers placed very close to the body are weak points.

Overall, NIU KQI 100F offers a good overall package for passengers for a price of 380 euros that are looking for a mild, compact and reliable e-scooter.
