Dreamy not only makes vacuum mops, robotic lawnmowers, and vacuum robots, but also cordless vacuum cleaners. The new premium model in the range is the Z30, which we took a closer look at in testing.
Dreame has launched the Z30, a new premium handheld vacuum cleaner featuring its impressive suction power and a comprehensive accessory package. It also counts particles of different sizes drawn in and has a replaceable battery. Can the Z30 really compete with top competitors like Dyson?
Scope of delivery and design
The Dreame Z30 comes with an impressive support package that leaves nothing to be desired. In addition to the main tool, it includes a motorized brush head with light for carpet and hard floors, a motorized mini brush, a brush for combing pets, and various other brushes and attachments. The scope of delivery also includes a flexible adapter and an extension hose. The vacuum cleaner has a modern design with a clear LCD display that shows important information like dirt level and battery life. The user can also see the number of dirt particles of different sizes that have been sucked up – just like the Dyson V15 Detect (test report).
Processing and Handling
The workmanship of the Dreame Z30 is of high quality. The vacuum cleaner is made of sturdy plastic and aluminum, giving it a solid feel. All accessories are easily replaceable and securely locked into place. It is operated via two buttons on the handpiece, which are easily accessible with the thumb. The power button replaces the previous trigger, so the vacuum cleaner keeps running without cramping your fingers. The different suction modes – Eco, Auto and Boost – can be easily changed at the touch of a button. But the automatic mode responds quickly and does its job well.
There’s nothing to complain about in terms of design, but there are no real innovations here. The mix of light metal and plastic makes the Z30 feel of adequate quality, especially since the device appears stable and sturdy overall. The manufacturer does not use bright colors like the market leader, but relies on gray and black tones. The most striking feature is the large, flat battery, which is located under the handle of the pistol and is removable. This allows easy replacement or purchase of replacement batteries if the working time is not sufficient.
We find the charging stand somewhat inappropriate for a premium model. Not only is it quite wobbly, but it only allows you to store three extra brush attachments – but a total of eight accessories in addition to the main bust head. Furthermore, the vacuum cleaner is not automatically charged as soon as it is placed there, but the charging cable has to be plugged in manually every time. Additionally, the charging indicator doesn’t stay on, so you can only see by the flashing of a wide LED on the battery that it’s still charging – but not how full it is. And last but not least, the display content does not rotate while loading, so the content is “inverted” while loading.

Suction power and practical testing
The Dreame Z30 impresses with an impressive suction power of 310 air watts, making it one of the most powerful cordless vacuum cleaners on the market. It is particularly strong on hard floors and reliably picks up even fine dust. If desired, the suction pressure of the main bust can be increased by adjusting the front lip. However, in most cases, this will be unnecessary. While the main brush, which is for hard floors and carpets, has two forward-facing, blue LEDs, the hard floor brush uses a blue LED that, similar to the Dyson, illuminates the front area of the brush head. Illuminates from the edge. However, with the Dyson, we like the greener shade more; It is more intense and exposes dirt particles better.
The Z30 proves to be very useful in everyday life and its volume remains quite moderate most of the time. However, you can also tolerate a higher suction level, which switches on for short periods from time to time in a fast-responding automatic mode. It depends on the amount of dirt particles that are currently being vacuumed. If it increases, the automatic system increases performance. Due to the wide range of delivery, you can reach almost every corner with the Z30, even if not every suction attachment seemed useful to us. For example, there’s a “rotating dusting brush” that looks like a shaving brush and, with its ball joint and soft bristles, should be very gentle on sensitive surfaces, but we didn’t use it due to lack of application. The animal hair brush, with which you have to vacuum your pet directly and then vacuum out the combed animal hair at the touch of a button, was not well received by the tester’s cats and therefore It was no longer used.
The Z30 also produces good results on carpets, and the motor brush does a better job on longer floors, but didn’t get stuck in testing. Since, in our opinion, the included carpet brush has rows of bristles that are very soft, dirt that easily gets into the fibers is not picked up as quickly as some more expensive competitors. Instead, users have to pay close attention and sometimes walk over the same spot a second time. Alternatively, manually switching to turbo mode also helps, in which the cordless vacuum cleaner uses its full suction power. Cleaning performance is good overall, but it doesn’t come close to top models from Samsung (test report) or Dyson (test report).
The Dreame Z30 is equipped with an efficient HEPA filter system that filters out up to 99.9% of all particles from the air. The dust container holds 600 ml and is easy to empty. Washable components make cleaning easy and contribute to the longevity of the vacuum cleaner.
Battery life and charging time
With up to 90 minutes of battery life in Eco mode, the DreamEye Z30 provides enough power for large cleaning areas. In Auto mode, the battery lasts for about 40 minutes depending on the nature of the surface and the degree of dirt, while in Boost mode it drains in less than 15 minutes. Charging time is approximately four hours. Meanwhile, the vacuum cleaner sees around 40 watts, that is, about 0.15 kilowatts. The battery is replaceable, which extends the life of the device.
price
With a price of around 600 euros, the DreamEye Z30 is in the upper middle sector of cordless vacuum cleaners. Alternatives in this price range are the Dyson V15 Detect (test report), which also offers strong suction power and very good cleaning performance, or the Samsung Bespoke Jet (test report), which also gets points with a suction station. However, both models were originally significantly more expensive.
conclusion
The Dreame Z30 is a powerful cordless vacuum cleaner that impresses with its high suction power and extensive accessories. The workmanship is of high quality and the operation is simple and user-friendly. The long battery life is also reassuring, making the Z30 ideal for larger cleaning jobs. Overall, the Dreame Z30 offers excellent value for money, but there are some small points of criticism.
First and foremost, though somewhat inappropriate, is the wobbly storage stand, which also offers very few storage options. Additionally, the display content does not rotate when loaded. Additionally, the cleaning performance on carpets could be slightly better. The bottom line is that the versatile Dreame Z30 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is definitely not a bad buy.
