Double Band: This is how Belkin’s extra strap for the Vision Pro works

Making sure the Vision Pro sits comfortably on your head isn’t that easy. This is enough for some users solo knit band Without additional support at the surface of the head, others need this relief immediately and so they resort to dual loop bandWhich Apple happily handles. But actually both will be good together: While the Solo Knit Band – also called “Solo Band made of knitted fabric” in German – can be easily adjusted with a wheel, the Dual Loop Band only has one Has an annoying velcro fastener.

In fact, Apple already had a combination of the Solo Knit Band and an additional band on the head Introductory Vision Pro Video Shown, but that version never came to market. Until now: For a few weeks now, Apple’s preferred accessory supplier, Belkin, a subsidiary of Foxconn, has been distributing its own solution called a Headband for the Vision Pro.

The nice thing about the Belkin product is that you can pair it with the Solo Knit Band, which was clearly Apple’s intention. This gives you the best of both worlds. Installation is easy: The fully pre-assembled headband features two flexible clips that can be attached to the Vision Pro’s audio pod.

Like the dual loops, the band is secured using Velcro strips. Due to the fact that the Belkin version is a little wider – about a little finger thicker – it is more comfortable to wear and easier to adjust. The combination with the solo knit band provides additional comfort, which is missing with the dual loop alone. In practice, you can stay under the headset for longer periods of time. This is especially true for those who are already able to use the Solo Knit Band but are hoping for easier printing. Finally, the Vision Pro weighs between 600 and 650 grams depending on the “Light Seal” and headband.

There’s one problem with Belkin’s headband: It’s not designed for use with Apple’s developer strap. It can be used to retrofit the USB-C port for the Vision Pro at a commercial price of 329 euros. While the strap has a circular opening for the power supply (puck with bayonet lock) on one side, the bulge is missing on the other side, where the connection for the USB-C connector is located on the Dave Strap. Accordingly, bands cannot be added here. Developers and other owners of Dave Strap will first have to replace it with a standard audio pod – using the included tools, which is definitely not something you want to do regularly.

That’s 54.95 euros belkin headband Not exactly cheap, but still a far cry from the ridiculous price that Apple charges for the Solo Knit Band or Dual Loop Band when purchased individually – 115 euros each. However, there is competition for Belkin: Apple accessories specialist Spigen is selling a Similar “Head Strap” For $39.99 (but it’s currently available for $21.99). The Spigen solution is also intended to be used in conjunction with the Solo Knit Band and also offers light padding. Hobbyists can combine two Solo Knit bands with 3D printing components (for 115 euros plus printing costs), which is by far the most convenient solution, as there are adjustment wheels for both pulling directions.
