Robert Bosch GmbH relies on artificial intelligence (AI) when developing new products. At CES 2025, Bosch claimed 1,500 AI patents over five years, submitted by more than 5,000 AI experts at Bosch. This is a record for Europe and should continue that way: Bosch has trained more than 65,000 employees in its “AI Academy”.

AI for assisted and automated driving
Among other things, product development plays a major role in assisted and automated driving, said Tanja Ruckert, Managing Director of Bosch. Image processing algorithms using classic processes and artificial intelligence methods should enable a complete understanding of the scene.
Generative AI also aims to improve automated driving functions. This means that artificial intelligence can respond better when the context changes, for example if there is snow or ice on the road.
According to Bosch, so-called micro-electromechanical sensors (MEMS) the size of a grain of sand play a major role in everyday life, for example in smartphones, e-bikes, fitness trackers or cars. They record data such as acceleration, rotation or temperature, wake up the smartphone or activate the voice assistant.
smart cot
An interesting result of these developments is the smart Rewall children’s bed. Sensors, cameras, a microphone in an extendable arm, and a multimodal AI agent assist parents in caring for their newborn.
The crib can monitor the baby 24 hours a day. Artificial intelligence monitors vital signs such as heart and breathing rates and analyzes sleep. For example, it not only detects when a baby cries, but also detects when, for example, a stuffed animal or blanket is blocking the baby’s airway. The sensors also determine temperature, humidity and air quality.
Sensors monitor the baby’s vital functions and detect, for example, whether he is crying or not.

According to the manufacturer, if a newborn baby has trouble sleeping, the cot can automatically rock him or her to sleep. It also records special moments and tracks developments. Alternatively, it stores the collected data in encrypted form on Bosch servers.
Prices and availability
Bosch is initially launching its Revolve children’s bed in China. Market launch in the United States is scheduled for 2026. The smart bed will cost $1,200. It is not yet clear whether the smart children’s bed will also be available in Germany.
Heise Median is the Official Media Partner of CES 2025.
