Apple Maps: Preparing for the Olympic Games in Paris

Apple will also add details about other Olympic venues, temporary locations, and dining and shopping options. Special icons draw attention to Olympic venues and are intended to guide visitors. Apple has also integrated various new “Maps Guides” that draw attention to restaurants, shops, and hotels taken from well-known blogs, magazines, and other media.

Olympic content in other apps too

Apple has also set up a separate area in the App Store where specific apps for the Games can be downloaded. Like the new Apple Sports app, there will also be regular editorial content on the subject and information about events online. The TV app is also being updated with new content on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. Apple has also announced that it will also add content about the Paris Summer Games to Apple News (not available in the EU), Apple Music and Apple Podcasts. The content is mostly free; streaming depends on the respective broadcaster app.
