After a closed beta phase, the Ukrainian company MacPaw has now released its Setapp subscription service as an alternative app marketplace (Alternative App Marketplace, AAM) on the iPhone for all interested users. Setapp launched “Setapp Mobile” a few months ago, but initially accepted only selected testers. The download is now available to all users in the EU. As is always the case with AAM, it is done Initially via the web: Here the installer is requested on the iPhone via the browser. After several approval dialogs, the offer can be used.

AAMs are not yet available to other groups of people – including residents of Switzerland. Setapp Mobile works in a similar way to Apple’s own App Store, but is used to provide access Mobile offering of subscription service to get. Setapp regularly charges a flat rate: access to Mac and iOS titles for $12.49 per month; the annual package costs $11.24.

Setapp is known for selling popular applications, especially from independent developers. On Mac and iPhone, there are currently more than 250 apps. Earlier it was possible to use mobile apps, but it was not so easy to install them through the App Store and authentication. This is now easier with your own AAM, which also manages updates.
