The feature is currently marked as beta and can be activated through the Settings menu. “Enable working with apps” is started with a switch. Currently supported programs include Apple’s Notes app, sales tool Quip, and productivity suite Notion.
If desired, ChatGPT can interact with them or read content from their database. OpenAI has also announced integrations for other development environments and developer editors. These include the JetBrains IDE, various VS Code forks, and BBEdit, popular among Apple users.

For paying customers only
Access is particularly useful because it allows you to get results more quickly than entering requests individually into ChatGPT. Programming is easy with the help of a chatbot. Additionally, voice input is supported (also known as “Advanced Voice Mode”).
The usual security concerns remain when using ChatGPT: requests are stored in logs and, depending on the contract with OpenAI, can also be used for training. Additionally, “Work with Apps” currently only works for paying customers. This includes customers of ChatGPT Plus, ChatGPT Pro, and the Team, Enterprise, and Education packages.
