A million checkboxes – that’s all a website needs to go viral. If you click on an empty field, a white tick appears on a blue background. When you click on a checkmark, the field is emptied. The highlight: all website visitors can click on the field. The field you just checked can be emptied again by another player in the United States. That’s it – there is no game goal.

The game is now out. Developer: Nolen Royalty He writes on his blog eieio.gamesIn the two weeks after the site was launched, Internet users had clicked a total of 650 million checkboxes. The site crashed several times, plus he wanted to finish the game before it was forgotten. So he changed the rules: instead of being able to click on a box as many times as you wanted, he froze them if they didn’t empty out quickly enough. The entire game board gradually filled up until all the boxes were full. Now the website shows a notice in English: “We’ve filled every box! But you can still play alone if you want.”
Now everyone is free to click as many boxes as they want.
