PCIE through TB5: First expansion box for Macos

Most Macs do not have expansion shafts – now with the exception of the old Mac Pro M2 Ultra. Council expert Sonnet has now presented a total of four new models for external use of PCI cards. Special thing: This is the first system with Thunderbolt 5. They are specifically developed for Mac with apple silicon: Mac Mini M4 Pro, Mac Studio 2025 and MacBook Pro and M4 Max come with Fast Interfaces.

The initial version is always one Eco-I-DV-Thunderbolt-5 moduleIt is inserted into either a desktop residence or a rack mount. After all, the module also fits in the XMAC studio, especially a rack trick for the Mac Studio. Thunderbolt 5 is compatible at the bottom, so it can also be used on Mac with still Thunderbolt 3 or 4. So if you are planning to buy a new Mac later, you can go for this expansion box.

Eco-II-DV-Thunderbolt-5 module. A dual dog comes with an interface that is believed to make 6000 MB/S gross twice. A 400-watt power supply is integrated with two 75-watt auxiliary electricity ports. As usual, PCIE Extension of Apple-Silicon-Macs does not work with graphics card (GPU).

Radio Technology: No Wi-Fi 7 in the new Mac, no C1 in the new iPadRadio Technology: No Wi-Fi 7 in the new Mac, no C1 in the new iPad

To do this, you can use audio cards, multimedia accelerator or flash module cards, possibly with related drivers. The slots are provided for each two x16 pcie 4.0 cards, full and in length (up to 12.28 inches). Two TB5 cables are included. DV I/O Card, NVME-SSD memory or 25 GB-Multiport-Thernet adapters are already available.

However, fun is not cheap. The cost of the module alone is 1462 euros (without cover). With desktop housing, 1608 euros are to be paid, 1754 euro with racmount (two units)-although another module (for four cards) fits later. The variant gave the XMAC Studio and TB5 case a price of 2266 euros for two cards. The delivery begins at the end of the second trimester. The sonnet sells directly or through a professional sales partner.
