A transition lens converts the smartphone into a micro-four third camera: this concept shows Xiaomi on MWC. SO -Called “modular optical systems” include a customized Xiaomi 15 and a specially developed lens including sensors. The Xiaomi theory works in a different way than the Realme approach, which is also shown on MWC. In the latter, the smartphone has a sensor, Xiaomi forms a unit and sensor.

Xiaomi uses a micro-four third sensor for lenses. This type collects light compared to 1-inch sensor-the largest sensors that can currently be found in the smartphone-as an recently larger area (225 mm, vs 116 mm mm). The sensor enrolled by Xiaomi “Light Fusion X” has a resolution of 100 megapixels. Traditional MFT sensors that are in current panasonic cameras, for example, receive a maximum of 25 megapixels. Despite the compact dimensions, the Xiaomi provides the lens with a bright aperture of f/1.4, the image angle matches a 35 mm lens on a small picture camera.
Realme lighter than concept
The smartphone with the lens magnet lives on housing and is also anchored with two pogopin. The lens is supplied with electricity through the pin. With the smartphone, it communicates through a proprietary technique called Xiaomi Laserlink and which should enable data transmission up to 10 Gbit/s. Pictures distribute it as jpgs or raw files, the further process is on the smartphone.
A smartphone with an interchangeable lens is also shown on MWC compared to the realm concept, the Xiaomi lens scores with its compact dimensions despite the large sensor. On the other hand, it is less durable that each lens will depend on its own sensor and the lens will only compatible with the Xiaomi smartphone. According to the manufacturer, Realme Lens is one with an L-mount connection connected to the smartphone by the adapter ring. However, Realme did not give any information to what extent the smartphone will work with regular L-mount lens and whether realme lens will work on L-mount cameras.
