VR glasses promise immersion in a computer-popular world. You can look around and move forward. Some sensory is missing. The purpose of a system developed in the USA is to enable virtual taste.

The system with the designation e key was developed at Ohio State University. It has an electromagnetic pump that transports a mixture of several substances about the subject, where it makes a taste imprint.
The five substances that taste taste are glucose, citric acid, sodium chloride, magnesium chloride and glutamate. They stand cute, sour, salty, bitter and umami for five basic tastes.

On the way in the mouth, the mixture is still pressed through a layer of gel. The duration of the interaction of the liquid with the gel determines how intense the taste is. “Depending on the digital instructions, you can also release one or more different tastes at the same time so that you can cause different sensations”, Project manager Jinghua Lee said,
Topics should recognize taste
As the LIS team came to know, it is difficult to breed. Nevertheless, the e-button system can produce relatively well. In trials, the subjects were able to differentiate between different intensity of an acidic taste with an accuracy of about 70 percent. In other experiments, test themes should be identified with five fake flavors whether it was lemonade, cake, fried egg, fish soup or coffee.
The idea of e-button is to create a better gaming experience. However, the system can also help people with restrictions, for example if they have lost a sense of taste by Kovid through injury or long. Finally, scientists hope to see how the brain processes sensory signals from the mouth.
“The chemical dimension is relatively low in the current VR and AR region, especially when it comes to smell and taste,” Lee said. Lis team describes its development Journal Science Advanced,
